BATU VILLA

The name Batu meaning ‘boulder’ in Indonesian, is aptly chosen as the property is situated on the boulders of the South Shore of Virgin Gorda in Whale Bay, British Virgin Islands.

Batu Villa was completed in January 2016 and is comprised of four air conditioned suites with king size poster beds, four en suite bathrooms all equipped with outdoor showers, and four private decks with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Arawak were proud to work closely with the owners of the property and Mr. Jon Osman as the Architect for this project, who brought Arawak to the team.

Following the brief and guidance from Mr. Osman, which comprised of hand-drawn architectural drawings in a traditional Balinese style.

After the original brief was received, Roy Keegan, Arawak’s owner and buyer put together recommendations for each room that complimented the overall Balinese style of the villa.

Once the package was approved, all furniture, fixtures and fittings were custom-made in Bali.  Roy and his team oversaw the entire process throughout, including manufacturing, shipping and laying out all pieces in place at the villa.

Some unique items were custom designed and made especially as required, including king-size four-poster beds that convert easily into two single beds.

Arawak were proud to provide:

•         Lounge furniture

•         Dining Room furniture

•         Bedroom furniture

•         Outdoor Sun beds

•         Exterior stone-boulder light fixtures

•         Bathroom mirrors

•         Carved wooden panels
