COCOMAYA RESTAURANT
CocoMaya Restaurant is located in the heart of Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands.
Just minutes from The Baths National Park and the beautiful Spring Bay Beach, the Restaurant is a chic, modern, Asian-inspired style building with a relaxed, buzzing atmosphere. It is popular with visitors and locals alike.
Arawak was approached by CocoMaya’s owners to provide various custom interior and outdoor pieces for the Restaurant, both upon its original construction and more recently.
The owners asked Roy Keegan, Arawak’s owner and buyer to recommend an alternative solution to blinds to provide some privacy inside the Restaurant, as well as allow air flow throughout, and provide a sectioned off area without using solid walls.
Roy suggested that liana wood could be ideal for this purpose, with each piece of wood placed vertically in a slatted pattern, which gave a feeling of a sectioned off area, with air flow and was also visually interesting and appealing.
Arawak were proud to provide:
• Liana wood pieces
• Cockerel baskets used as light fittings over the Bar
• Easter-Island style stone statues
• Chinese-Warrior stone statues
